My name is Autumn and I’ve created this blog to help anyone I can realize their full potential through eating wholesome, nutritious food, performing fun and beach-y workouts, and appreciating your incredible body for all that it is! When I was in high school, there was a period of time when I was sad almost every day. I didn’t know what was causing this terminally empty feeling, but I couldn’t shake it. I woke up feeling down and that would persist all day. I had always been an athlete, but that year I got my license and started eating out a lot at unhealthy places as well as bailing on dance practices. One day the sadness was too hard to deal with and I came to the realization that I didn’t want to be like this anymore.
So just like that, I dropped all of this sh*tty food and started exercising. At first, the transition was miserable. I was detoxing from the junk and lack of movement. After the first couple of weeks, I woke up one morning and the world was bright again. It was as if someone had opened up my bedroom curtains to let the light in. I was feeling light, happy and wonderful!
I want everyone to feel like this. I personally know how it feels to be perpetually sad and its not fun. Being active and healthy has made me the happiest I could ever possibly be!
Since then, I’ve done a lot with my life:
I traveled all over Europe, even spending some of my time traveling alone. I’m a very independent person and I always wanted to have the courage to travel to a different country by myself. This last summer, I was finally able to do that. This picture was taken in Berlin next to the Berlin wall.
I was on the show Wipeout and got 4th place! This was a huge bucket list item for me. It took a lot of courage for me to audition and even more courage to go on national television and battle my way through those slippery, sketchy obstacle courses! One of the biggest highlights of my life so far.
I ran a 1/2 and full marathon! This picture is of me finishing up the half marathon in my hometown of Manhattan Beach. Completing a marathon was one of those items that I thought wasn’t really possible and only elite athletes could do. Well, last year I proved myself wrong when I completed both within 3 months of each other!
I created a fitness event for my school all on my own with Oakley, Perfect Foods, and Garden of Life as sponsors! Believe it or not, it was a struggle to get this together! But I pulled through and led over 100 girls through three amazing workouts! Plus, they got awesome SWAG bags from the sponsors that I got for the event!
I got certified as a personal trainer through NCCPT! I’m also finishing up my undergrad to get my BS in Nutritional Sciences!
I had the incredible opportunity to work with Oakley and Tone It Up for the first ever Tone It Up Retreat! 1 week of working with 3oo women who also have a passion for nutrition, health and life!
Basically, I’ve done a lot ever since I realized that I have the potential to do anything I want. I wouldn’t have had the confidence to do any of these things if it weren’t for that day that I realized things needed to change. Fitness and Nutrition helped me take control of my life so that I could do the things that I have always romanticized doing.
